About the Solar Radiation Consortium

The Solar Radiation Consortium provides solar radiation data based on satellite observations, and supports data distribution efforts and promotion of use. Solar radiation is one of the basic physical quantities in weather and climate. Solar radiation based on satellite observation has surface distribution information, and it is possible to use spatio-temporal information on solar radiation over a wide area. In addition, since analysis can be performed according to the observation frequency of geostationary satellites, solar radiation data can be used in near-real time. Solar radiation based on satellite observations can be applied to various fields such as renewable energy and agriculture. The purpose is to contribute to society.
